It covers the health and safety laws that apply to construction work, how to identify and report common hazards, basic risk control measures, responding to incidents and emergencies, and selecting and fitting the personal protective equipment (PPE) used on site.

The course is delivered and assessed in English, so you’ll need a basic level of written and spoken English to take part.

What you’ll learn

  • Work health and safety laws, and your rights and responsibilities on site
  • How to identify and manage common construction hazards and risks
  • Emergency and incident response procedures
  • How to select, fit and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
