CPC30220 Cert III in Carpentry

This qualification provides you with the skills and knowledge to undertake a range of carpentry tasks, including setting out, manufacturing, assembling, installing, repairing and maintaining building components and structures.

This qualification consists of 34 units of competency, including core and elective units.

Units of competency cover skills such as:

• check_smallreading and interpreting plans and specifications
• check_smallmeasuring, calculating and setting out construction work
• check_smallconstructing wall, floor and roof framing
• check_smallinstalling windows, doors and lining systems
• check_smallusing construction tools and equipment safely
• check_smallapplying workplace health and safety requirements

• check_smallcarrying out repair and maintenance work

This qualification is delivered through an Australian Apprenticeship arrangement and combines workplace learning with structured training and assessment.

Training is delivered through block release attendance at MBA Training’s Skills Centre in Fyshwick, supported by workplace learning and assessment activities completed with your employer.

Apprentices and employers must meet the requirements of the Australian Apprenticeships system and any applicable Skills Canberra requirements.

To be eligible to complete this qualification, you must be:

• check_smallat least 15 years old
• check_smallan Australian citizen, permanent resident, or NZ passport holder residing for over 6 months, or hold an eligible visa
• check_smallemployed by an ACT employer in the construction industry and able to complete a minimum of 15 hours of combined work and training each week

• check_smallComplete a Language, Literacy & Numeracy (LLN) assessment prior to enrolmentLearners must demonstrate LLN skills at ACSF (Australian Core Skills Framework) Level 3 to support successful participation. Where support needs are identified, MBA Training will discuss appropriate support options with the learner prior to enrolment.
