HOW WE ADVOCATE

What we do

Our advocacy efforts include:

  • Engaging with government We meet regularly with members of government and the opposition to discuss critical issues affecting our industry and make informed recommendations that benefit our sector and the community.
  • Policy development We craft detailed submissions and policy papers addressing specific industry issues that matter to our members.
  • Research We conduct and contribute to research to ensure our advocacy is underpinned by data-driven insights. This research supports our position and helps guide decision-making by policymakers.
  • Media engagement We publicise and promote our views, research and positions on key issues to the media to help put pressure on governments to make decisions that lead to favourable outcomes for our industry.

Our approach

Our approach to advocacy is collaborative and member-focused. We prioritise open communication and engagement with our members through various channels:

  • Member consultation through regular communications and Member Forums
  • Escalation of issues raised by our members to the relevant government authorities
  • Involving our members by asking for their experiences and insights to guide research and submissions and strengthen our advocacy efforts
  • Formal submissions and meetings to present findings and discuss recommendations
